The Promised Neverland

The Promised Neverland's dark-ending arc is a near-perfect structural diagram of its

first episode. Cloverworks opens in the warm, soft pastels of Grace Field House — the

children's clothes, the garden, the ordinary life — before the third act collapses into

the revelation that destroys it. The palette shifts from the warm yellows of the orphanage

lanterns to the cold, crushing darkness of the forest beyond the gate. The barcode is a

horror film in miniature: you can see exactly where the idyll ends and the nightmare begins.
